Entre beauté, décadence, renouveau et précision
Le Jura n'est pas seulement une chaîne de montagnes géologiquement ancienne, mais aussi une région au passé culturel fascinant. Ma famille a ses racines ici. Je n'avais jamais visité notre village natal. Le nom apparaissait sur mon passeport et mon certificat d'origine, mais je n'avais aucune image en tête. Une première visite m'a laissé une impression durable, le paysage, les villages et les villes m'ont attiré à plusieurs reprises et j'ai commencé à les documenter avec mon appareil photo.
Les changements politiques et les votations ont renforcé mon intérêt. La séparation de certaines communes du canton de Berne pour rejoindre le canton du Jura a créé une nouvelle dynamique et la question de l'identité et de l'appartenance est passée au premier plan.
Le Jura séduit par ses paysages composés de rivières, de forêts et de formations rocheuses. Au milieu de villages tranquilles et de quartiers parfois pauvres, on trouve des entreprises high-tech ultramodernes, réputées dans le monde entier pour leur précision. La région est connue pour sa longue tradition dans la fabrication de montres et la mécanique de précision. Cette tension, ce contraste, confère à la région une complexité particulière.

Between beauty, decay, departure and precision
The Jura is not only an ancient mountain range but also a region with a fascinating cultural past. My family has its roots here. I had never visited our hometown. The name appeared on my passport and certificate of origin, but I had no image of it in my mind. My first visit left a lasting impression; the landscape, the villages and the towns drew me back again and again, and I began to document them with my camera.
Political changes and referendums heightened my interest. The secession of individual municipalities from the canton of Bern to the canton of Jura created a new dynamic, and the question of identity and belonging came to the fore.
The Jura region offers stunning scenery with its rivers, forests and rock formations. Amidst tranquil villages and some impoverished settlements, there are state-of-the-art high-tech companies that are known worldwide for their precision. The region is famous for its long tradition of watchmaking and precision engineering. This tension, this contrast, gives the region a special complexity.

Zwischen Schönheit, Verfall, Aufbruch und Präzision
Der Jura ist nicht nur ein geologisch uralter Gebirgszug, sondern auch eine Region mit einer faszinierenden kulturellen Vergangenheit. Meine Familie hat hier ihre Wurzeln. Ich hatte unseren Heimatort nie besucht. Auf dem Passport und dem Heimatschein erschien der Name, ein Bild hatte ich nicht im Kopf. Ein erster Besuch hinterließ einen bleibenden Eindruck, die Landschaft, die Dörfer und die Städte zogen mich immer wieder an und ich begann mit der Kamera zu dokumentieren.
Die politischen Veränderungen und Abstimmungen verstärkten das Interesse. Die Abspaltung einzelner Gemeinden vom Kanton Bern zum Kanton Jura schuf eine neue Dynamik und die Frage nach Identität und Zugehörigkeit rückte in den Vordergrund.
Der Jura begeistert landschaftlich mit seinen Flüssen, Wäldern und Felsformationen.
Inmitten beschaulicher Dörfer und teils ärmlichen Siedlungen finden sich hochmoderne High-Tech-Betriebe, die weltweit für ihre Präzision bekannt sind. Die Region ist bekannt für ihre lange Tradition in der Herstellung von Uhren und Feinmechanik. Diese Spannung, dieser Kontrast, verleiht der Region eine besondere Vielschichtigkeit.
